Honestly, I found Deepak Chopra to be a little fluffy. I gave him a chance and I wanted to like it, I really did. Although this was a difficult read for me, I strive to learn lessons from any knowledge that I take the time to study. Here are some of those lessons. Ironically, after re-reading some of my notes on future postings, I keep finding myself coming back to this book. I guess I didn’t appreciate the magnitude of this advice and it’s inter-relation with many of the other themes that I find important.
- If you want joy, give joy to others; if you want love, learn to give love; if you want attention and appreciation, learn to give attention and appreciation; and if you want material affluence, help others to become materially affluent.
- Wherever I go, and whoever I encounter, I will bring them a gift. The gift may be a complement, a flower, or a prayer. Today I will give something to everyone I come in contact with, and so I will begin the process of circulating joy, wealth, and affluence in my life and in the lives of others.
- What are the consequences of this choice that I’m making? Will this choice bring fulfillment and happiness to me and also to those who are affected by this choice?
